Yating Chen is very passionate about fashion, but she picked Styling—a minority major as her direction. Compared to fashion design, Styling focuses more on things besides the apparel itself, and the utilization of other elements is the key to styling.
Yating doing crafts
Yating didn’t know much about the fundamental techniques of art making, and she got frustrated a lot of by different problems she encountered. However, due to her strenuous and diligent quality, Yating can always solve her problem from in a different way or from a distinct dimension. Yating is also interested in various art forms: she is a fashion designer who decomposed and created new clothes; an artist who experiment with color and fabric; a photographer who edit her photos and videos creatively…It was because of the wide variety in her art portfolio that impressed the interviewers a lot.

Yating is a vivacious girls who has her own insight towards fashion. She was so nervous that she couldn’t get accepted by the school she liked because she had never learnt anything related to fashion before she came to ArtBox School. However, Yating found her confidence after she talked to the instructors in the school, and she finally made an impressive portfolio with her hard work. Apart from her artworks, Yating is also a top student in her high school that she got a pretty high score in A-Level class, which is also very helpful for her to apply to colleges.
