Industrial Design (Industrial Design)
Basically, industrial design is a group of artists, designers, and inventors who create what we do every day – from toothbrushes to large jets, from cameras to computers, to concepts. At Pratt, the core values of visual abstraction (line, face, color, shape, structure, and volume) and pragmatism (function, material, process, stability, and marketing) coexist. Our mission is to teach students the aesthetic meaning, shaping methods and pragmatic use, quality assurance and innovation. In this real environment of checks and balances, we encourage students to design for the future.
Interior Design (Interior Design)
Interior Design is a course that focuses on space design and surface embellishment, exploring aspects of space such as spatial scale, scale, configuration, and light source, as well as the effects of texture, materials, and color on humans. The students began their interior design studies in their sophomore year, working with their classmates in the studio, and accompanied by competition. In the six semesters, the students were divided into small groups to work with the professors in the design studio to complete various complex projects.
Architecture (Architecture)
The mission of the School Building Program is to train future leaders in the design, planning and management of disciplines in the areas of architectural urban design, urban and regional planning, building and facility management, environmental management and preservation of historical artifacts. Efforts in this area need to be based on professional education. The School of Art and Design emphasizes the relationship between intellectual development and creative activity. The school offers a wide range of liberal arts and science majors while also offering individual and unique subjects. Schools emphasize the importance of self-study, also stressed that the paper should be based on curriculum and research studio based.
Digital Arts and Animation

Ceramics (Ceramics)
The purpose of the ceramics course is to guide students to develop deep feelings with materials, not just using clay as a tool. Pratt's studio is the largest studio in New York, allowing students to complete any piece of work as long as they can think of it. Students are given various tools to encourage them to overthrow the boundaries of matter. The department emphasizes the concept of focusing on the development of clay in contemporary art issues. In addition to learning about ceramics and its history, students learn basic ceramics and spend time honing their skills and concepts.
Sketch Drawing (Drawing)
Sketch painting affects almost every form of art. In Pratt, painting emphasizes giving students the opportunity to explain and define what painting and painting can do. This is an important opportunity for students. Through endless painting, students can explore and develop their understanding of art. Painting encourages diversity considerations, new technologies, primitive and traditional practices. Pratt's film program aims to nurture the next generation in the field of moving images and sound. In traditional and non-traditional forms, Pratt provides a diverse foundation for the movement of culture, technology and images, and the generation of sound. Jewelry Design (Jewelry)
Pratt's Jewelry Design Institute is uniquely positioned to offer a comprehensive art bachelor's degree in jewelry and metalworking in New York City. Oil Painting and Painting (Painting)
Pratt Institute's oil painting major is one of the nationally and internationally recognized undergraduate art education majors. Since its inception, many outstanding artisans have emerged. Photography (Photography)
Pratt's photography profession is dedicated to the education of artists and professionals. The course aims to create a broad knowledge system from traditional photography techniques to digital darkrooms, including aesthetics, history, art and professional practice. Students gradually rose from a high-immobilized sophomore to a self-determined senior. Students in this major can hold solo exhibitions at the Gallery of Contemporary Art Centers in New York City. Printmaking
Pratt's printmaking art promotes the exploration of visual representation through the most primitive form of art printing. The structure of the profession is based on traditional media such as gravure, lithography and screen printing, while encouraging the use of photo processing, digitization and multiple selection options. The studio's curriculum fosters an imaginative approach to solving formal, technical and innovative concepts. Pratt's printmaking faculty consists of accredited artists who encourage printmaking students to explore the medium of printmaking, the form they take, and their own perceptions of concepts and rigorous theories.
Sculpture Professional (Sculpture)
Pratt is one of the leading graduate degree schools in New York City and the nation. Sculptures now have many different expressions, both traditional and sophisticated, which often cover many different media, techniques and ideas. Pratt's sculpture research welcomes these diverse expressions. By exploring different concepts, material techniques and rigorous criticism, students practice their own operations to form their own unique perspective on art. The course is focused on studios and electives to explore ideas, media and processes. Students have access to a wealth of wood, metal, ceramic facilities and digital and multimedia. Illustration Professional (Illustration)
There is a strong illustrator atmosphere in Pratt, and the education of the students will be different from other schools because it is a small part of a big profession and not an independent department. Graphic Design

Fashion Design (Fashion Design)
Pratt College's fashion education is an interdisciplinary course that is closely related to illustrations, photography, film, performance, visual research, and material culture. Critical and Visual Studies (Critical and Visual Studies)

From street art to the political system, from the international media to every element of social life in the global economy can be the direction of your research. What is included in the excellent portfolio:
The collections can be based on personal interests and hobbies, involving a wide range of art and design works. Including sketches, oil paintings, prints, sculptures, photography, installation art, video, etc. There are also a variety of interdisciplinary design works, fabric, apparel, product, architectural, flat, and so on.
Of course, some students have submitted a series of works with strong style and got the offer. So there is no specific standard for the preparation of the portfolio, but it is necessary to show yourself in a planned and purposeful manner.
The time to spend on the preparation of the work:
Preparation time, suitable for two years of preparation time. The undergraduate application of the Pratt Institute of Art is divided into early approval and normal approval, which are November and January of each year. So you will be busy applying in the third year of high school, everyone should prepare as early as possible, and the first one can start.
Use your weekends and a variety of available holidays to create. In addition, the school's art class is also a good source of your work.
Usually in the first year of high school, you should learn as much as possible about various painting skills and computer skills. And pay more attention to the resources of art and design, enrich the inspiration in the brain.
The second year of high school is the golden year of creating works. If you become mature, you can create more excellent works. (Before the summer vacation, try to complete your TOEFL or IELTS exam, and the SAT or ACT will be completed as soon as possible)
A reasonable application schedule:

In August and September of each year, applications from many schools in the United States are open. First, register the two application platforms, Common Application and Slideroom, and fill in the basic information.
August: Before the end of the summer vacation in the second year of high school, do your collection, including typesetting. Reserve time for preparation of other application materials.
September: After the start of the school, I will go to the school's application guidance teacher and start preparing the transcripts. Some transcripts require certification and the period is one to two months. At the same time, you need to prepare the language scores, the upload of the recommendation letter (to recommend the teacher to complete), and the upload of the paperwork.
If there are no new works that will make you more satisfied during this period. The previously prepared folios can be uploaded directly.
Through the Slideroom, there will be specific requirements. After uploading, you can wait for the good news, and the basic pre-approval application will have a result around New Year's Day. If the normal batch is in accordance with the above plan, it will be fine.
